Japan Federation of Printing Industries (JFPI) was founded in 1985 with ten member groups from the printing industry. Its purpose has been to contribute to the development of the industry as well as the betterment of daily life and culture. Since then, we have steadily strengthened and improved the organization of the printing industry, receiving guidance from various relevant government ministries and agencies, as well as the cooperation of allied industries, such as those involved in paper, ink, machinery, and prepress equipment. During these twenty six years, we endeavored to advance the industry while respond to a changing environment including technical innovations and industry transformations.
With this age of digital networks, the technological environment facing the printing industry and the scope of its business have greatly changed since the time that JFPI was founded. The very concept of printing is undergoing a fundamental transformation.
Adapting to the ongoing digitization of printing processes, the printing industry of the 21st century will occupy an important position as an information and communication industry in our technologically advanced and information-oriented society by utilizing the essential elements of printing technology and joining them with electronic communications technology.
For every industry, environmental issues are very critical issues. Since printing industries are urban oriented industries, it is complying to follow government policies to achieve low carbon society and prevent global warming.
JFPI is committed to assist printing industries to promote information orientated business through its standing committees and research working groups as well as certification schemes.
Under our slogan “Printomorrow – for better future with print”, JFPI is ready to improve the stature of the printing industry, through the greater unity of its ten member organizations, and further contribute to society by providing information, improving lifestyles, and enriching our culture. The federation plans to fulfill its role as a vital organization by steadfastly promoting its activities.
We look forward to your generous guidance and support, as well as your continued encouragement.
